Vel began her career in dance, cheer, and physical fitness at just fifteen years old. Her lifelong passion for movement and children eventually grew into a mission: to create affordable, high-quality programs where every athlete feels a true sense of belonging.

A franchise owner of WEBBY Dance Company since 2005, Vel founded The Cheer and Dance Connection in 2009 after relocating from California to Fort Collins with her husband, David, and their family. What began as a dream has grown into a beautiful Northern Colorado community filled with athletes, coaches, families, friendships, and memories.

Vel often says, “I love what I do and who I do it with!” Her authentic love for people, commitment to excellence, and contagious joy have helped TCDC earn a reputation for offering some of the best recreational cheer and dance programs in the area. To Vel, however, success is not measured by numbers—it is measured by confidence gained, friendships formed, lives touched, and children who discover that they truly belong.

At the heart of Vel’s mission is the Panthers Adaptive Cheer and Dance Team. Since 2009, the Panthers have inspired audiences and brought incredible joy to community performances throughout Northern Colorado. They represent everything Vel believes in: inclusion, courage, connection, and celebrating the unique gifts within every person.

Family and faith are the foundation of Vel’s life. She and David feel deeply blessed by their four children, three sons-in-law, and five beautiful grandchildren. Whether she is coaching, encouraging a child, supporting a family, or creating memories with those she loves, Vel’s heart remains centered on serving others and giving back.

For Vel, it has always been about community. Since 2009, her greatest joy has been connecting children and families through confidence, character, friendship, and fun—while reminding every child that they are a unique and treasured GEM.
